Freshers 2021: Lunch choices

Homemade food is always tasty and healthy, but why not treat yourself for all the hard work you do in Uni. Whether you need a quick lunch on the go or a chill lunch times with your friends, then the places below are a must visit. They offer amazing food and as a student you may benefit from discounts as well, so keep an eye out for those.  Here are our lunch choices!

 

Tim Hortons

(96 George St, Glasgow G1 1RF) – Just underneath the Livingstone Tower this well known Canadian coffee house is another great option in between classes.

 

sprigg

(241 Ingram St, Glasgow G1 1DA)  – A splendid salad bar offering customisable bowls in various sizes as well as coffee and soups just across the way from the Gallery of Modern Art.

 

Greggs

(100 George St, Glasgow G1 1RF) –  A trusted favourite amongst the closest to campus offering affordable on the go options during the lunch time rush.

 

Cafe Strange Brew

(1082 Pollokshaws Rd, Shawlands, Glasgow G41 3XA) – Serving amazing coffee and an even better food menu, the Cafe Strange Brew is great wee get away in between classes or for a relaxing lunch with a friend.

 

Singl-end Merchant City

(15 John St, Glasgow G1 1HP) – This quaint much-loved café is great for students who frequent the west side of campus as it is only a 5 minute walk from the James Weir Building. 

 

Smile Cafe

(121 Douglas St, Glasgow G2 4HF) – Just off Sauchiehall Street this hidden gem comes highly recommended. They have a couple of locations that offer delicious Italian inspired lunch options; service with a smile is guaranteed.

Rawnchy

(vg) (98 Bellgrove St, Glasgow G31 1AA) – Aside from the delicious coffee and drinks,and the fingerlicking food, Rawnchy has an amazing selection of gluten free and vegan options as well. Perfect for instagram worthy photos and a group lunch, as everyone is guaranteed to find something they’ll like.

 

Pasha

(48 North Frederick Street, Glasgow G1 2BS) – A short walk from the old Union building Pasha is an award winning halal Middle Eastern lunch spot offering legendary ​​Shawarma and Falafel. Offering these options and more at affordable student prices worth checking out.

 

Kitchenetta

(187 Hyndland Rd, Glasgow G12 9HT) – A bit of a long walk, but definitely worth it! Kitchenetta has a selection of mouthwatering foods and deserts, as well as, refreshers and coffees. Perfect for a wee break and a friendly chat after the long walk. 

 

The Wilson Street Pantry

(6 Wilson St, Glasgow G1 1SS) – A cosy family run café less than 10 minutes from campus. can host large groups if you want to spend lunch with friends or work on your next group project.
